MYLA offers young people in high school (ages 13-16) a safe space where they will be developed for a multicultural world. Campers from multiple cultural backgrounds will form community with one another, experience the richness of each cultures’ heritage, and develop together as leaders. Camp dates for 2022 are July 31 – August 5 in New Era, MI.  Scholarships are available.  MYLA exists as an expression of three entities including Rescue, Release, Restore, Living Water Ministries, and Rev. Sunitha Mortha.

Advisers

The three entities that make MYLA happen each offer an Adviser to help guide the camp week.  Advisers oversee all aspects of the MYLA experience, and guide their work with the question, “How is this experience translating for each demographic present?”  By being mindful to how MYLA translates, the program is able to make adjustments in order to foster a community where participants can truly walk alongside one another and where the sharing of cultures can occur.  From left to right: C.J. Program Leadership

MYLA combines the expertise of camp programs provided by Rescue, Release, Restore, camp programs provided by Living Water Ministries, and MYLA music educators.  Program leadership works throughout the year to create and plan program modules that create the glue of our community.  Activities centered around culture simulations, power analysis, team initiatives, cultural meals, and more are the glue that makes the MYLA experience so powerfully unique.  From left to right: Soraya Dorvilier (MYLA Musicians), Jacoby Johnson (Rescue, Release, Restore), and Nicole McCarthy (Living Water Ministries).
