Where is The Gathering?
The Gathering will take place at The Radisson/Lansing Center in Downtown Lansing, MI from December 27-30, 2011.
Who May Attend The Gathering?
All youth grades 9-12, who are registered with an ELCA congregation and Episcopal youth from EDOMI, may attend. Youth who graduated high school in the same calendar year as The Gathering may attend and will be placed in the “post-high” small group.
Does the Registration Fee Include Meals?
No. The Radisson is providing a special menu just for us with special discount pricing. There are also a variety of restaurant options within walking distance of the hotel.
What's the Theme of the Dance?
Wondering what to wear to the dance at The Gathering? Look no further! Bring attire that reflects the appropriate decade as indicated below:
Adults/college- 20's
Seniors- 80's
Juniors- 50's
Sophomores- 70's
Freshmen- 60's
Are cell phones permitted?
Yes, although we encourage their use be appropriate and respectful.
How Many Adults Do We Send?
One adult leader, age 21 or older, must register for every 9 youth attending. Adult advisors pay the same registration fee as the youth.
Are Adult Leaders Required to Volunteer at The Gathering?
Yes. Each adult leader is required to be willing to co-lead a small group, assist as a member of covenant, or help with set-ups as needed. Please specify your preference when you register.
How Long Has The Gathering Been Around?
Since 1982.
Do We Get a Free T-shirt?
2011 Gathering t-shirts will be provided free for participants completely registered by November 15.
Are There Refrigerators in Each Room at the Radisson?
No. Groups will need to bring coolers for food and beverages they wish to keep cool. Ice machines are readily available on each floor of the hotel.
