At Living Water Ministries, we believe that the beauty of God’s creation shared
through a summer camp experience is an opportunity that should be had by all.
That’s why we’re offering a week of camp during the 2010 summer designed
for your child with high functioning autism. Here are a few ways we're tailoring
the program:
• Reduction of unnecessary loud noise stimulus
• Visual schedules that allow campers to see what they have
• accomplished and what is coming next.
• Increased staff to camper ratios
• Training for staff to handle or help prevent "meltdowns"
• Typical camp foods that are simple and straight forward
• Parents may be a part of the camp community the first night
• to help integrate their child into a new experience.
• Opportunities for optional and varied activities at Arts & Crafts
• Optional High Ropes Challenge Course
• Optional Horseback Riding
• Optional Canoe Trip
• With communication from families, respect and adherence
• to routines with meds, etc. as possible.
While youth without autism will also be in attendance, we’re offering a unique, safe experience of integration and learning that will impact all who attend as we share in God’s grace.
